NATO values every State

NATO values every State

In the capital of Montenegro there are numerous protests initiated by the opposition ‘Democratic Front’, demanding the resignation of the prime minister and early elections. According to RIA Novosti, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, has accused ‘Serb nationalists’ of organizing the anti-government protests, supported by Moscow, which opposes NATO membership.

The Director General of the Foreign Policy Research and Initiatives  Institute, Veronica Krasheninnikova, believes that the events in Montenegro become the next step in the process of  NATO’s expansion. ‘’Why are Washington and NATO interested in such a small country? There is not a piece of land which is not interesting. And Montenegro, and Moldova, and any other small country, of course, is valuable to them,’’  Krasheninnikova said

In her opinion, there are several reasons for that

First of all, in the West fear that if they do not take their positions, do not establish their military and political presence in the country, they fear Russia will. If not Russia, then there will be an independent government in this country  that will carry out its own sovereign line.

Secondly, each state has a voice. This voice is considered, for example, by the UN General Assembly. "Due to the variety of  the states, the US is getting those states on their side by wringing their hands, as we know, Foreign Minister Lavrov has spoken about such cases. All states need to be part of international coalitions. Who knows how many countries there are in the Western coalition in the fight against terrorism in Syria? There are four countries that have really been fighting terrorism, but there are 65 countries, 65 that do not occupy any position, or those countries that have just joined the coalition, or those with a very ambiguous policy towards these terrorists. Therefore, any state is needed in the alliance, or at least as very close allies,’’ the analyst believes.

She also focused attention on the fact that "Western experts have estimated that any country’s entry to NATO brings the military-industrial complex, first of all, between 200 and 400 million dollars. Because it means a transition to NATO standards, it means new weapons. Each country, each market is still important for the US and the Western military-industrial complex in terms of an economic crisis of some kind"

According to Krasheninnikova, new escalation of retraction of another state to NATO is a predictable move made by Washington. "Who wants war in Europe? Yes, the military-industrial complex may want it. Yes, the war may be wanted by those henchmen in Europe, in the European states, which are led by Washington. But this is a meager number of people. Yes, they have access to a huge media machine, yes, they use it. We have been shown the way it is used in favor of NATO. But the vast majority of people, citizens of any European state, do not want war and do not want to serve as pawns in someone else's geopolitical game. And in fact, such a force that is a majority in Europe, is our ally. They act in their own interests, they act in the interests of the world community, and these interests coincide with the interests of Russia. I think that in this case we have plenty of advantages on our side,’’  the analyst says.
