Arrangements in honor of Ahmad Kadyrov

On August 23rd a solemn event devoted to the 64th birthday of Ahmad Kadyrov took place in the Grozny Concert Hall. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, officials, cultural activists, and representatives of the clergy spoke at the event. The evening finished with a theater performance about the first president of Chechnya. The idea that thousands of young people left the forests, believing his words, was stressed in the performance.

TASS, 25.08.15: “The Ahmad Kadyrov Regional Social Foundation sponsored the construction of an area for engaging in extreme sports in Jerusalem. On the birthday of the first president of Chechnya, Hero of Russia Ahmad Kadyrov, a skating-park was opened. The Mayor of Jerusalem participated in the ceremony.”

Chechen Republic Today, 26.08.15: “On Tuesday August 25th an evening devoted to the poetic heritage of the first president of Chechnya, Hero of Russia Ahmad Kadyrov, took place at the Mikhail Lermontov National Russian Drama Theater. The goal of the evening was to present Ahmad Kadyrov as a poet who was deeply concerned about his Motherland to Russian readers.”

Pskov Information Agency, 27.08.15: “Sergey Yegorov, an athlete from Velikiye Luki, won the gold medal in the 7th International Junior Boxing Tournament, which was dedicated to the memory of the first president of Chechnya, Hero of Russia Ahmad Kadyrov. He competed in the category over 91 kg, in which 14 boxers participated. The boxer fought four matches. His rivals represented Ukraine, Chechnya, Uzbekistan and Belarus.”

IA Grozny-Inform, 24.08.15: “A ceremony of offering sacrifices took place in the Gudermes District of Chechnya in honor of the 64th birthday of the first president of Chechnya, Hero of Russia Ahmad Kadyrov. Meat was given away to families with low incomes. Hundreds of Muslims gathered in a mosque.”

Caucasus Today, 24.08.15: “Employees of the Ahmad Kadyrov Regional Social Foundation held a big charity event in regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. Families which needed external support received 40 thousand bags with sugar, flour and rice. The charity event took place in Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Stavropol Territory. The action was dedicated to the birthday of the first president of Chechnya.”

Elimination of criminal bosses continues

The head of the Makhachkala terrorist group, Abdul Kurbanov, has been killed in Dagestan. He and two other militants tried to escape from a seige during a CTO in the village of Novy Khushet. All three terrorists were killed.

Versiya in the Caucasus, 25.08.15: “A. Kurbanov is suspected of murdering a policeman in Novy Khushet on August 17th and shooting at two police officers and a teenager, the son of one of officers, on August 21st.”

Arguments of Week, 27.08.15: “Significant figures of the terrorist underground were killed in the mountains of Dagestan during a month: the Emir of the Caucasus Imarat, Magomed Suleymanov, the Emir of Dagestan, Kamil Saidov, and the Emir of the mountain sector of Dagestan, Abdula Abdullayev. The latter had several times been in Syria and participated in the war against the government army there.

Meanwhile, people in Dagestan view such special operations by the federal forces ambivalently. “Moscow thinks only about beautiful figures in reports, not considering the region’s specificity. All the killed bandits were serious opponents of the Islamic State’s Emirs entering the republic.” Abdullayev fought for the Syrian Liberation Army, which stood against Islamic State. Young Orthodox people meet in Ossetia’s mountains

The third International Forum of Orthodox Youth took place in North Ossetia. More than 150 young people from Moscow and the Moscow Region, the North Caucasus and Azerbaijan arrived in the Kurtatinskoye Gorge. They will meet social and religious activists, do hiking and participate in sporting events.

GTRK Stavropolye, 22.08.15: “The forum is taking place in the Kurtatinskoye Gorge in North Ossetia, at the summer camp of Metallurg, according to the official website of the Vladikavkaz and Alania Eparchy. Two previous forums of Orthodox youth were also held in North Ossetia, due to an initiative of the Youth Parliament of the Republic and the Vladikavkaz Eparchy.”

REGNUM, 22.08.15: “The forum was opened by the head of the parliament of the republic, Aleksey Machnev. Addressing the guests of the republic, the speaker of the parliament stressed: “You will spend a wonderful and interesting time. You will consider, speak, and make presentations. World-class motor-racing track opens in Grozny

On August 23rd the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the Minister for theNorth Caucasus of Russia, Lev Kuznetsov, opened the motor-racing track called 'Krepost Groznaya'. According to Kadyrov, this is a world-class motor-racing track which consists of a track for circle and pair races, an exhibition hall, and a tuning village. Ramzan Kadyrov made the first round himself.

Chempionat, 26.08.15: “The general square of Krepost Groznaya is 60 ha. The motor-racing track is really high-class. At the moment this is the only professional track for drag racing in Russia. The track is accessible to 2000 spectators, not including VIP-guests. There was a canteen where food was free during the competitions. The press center is perfectly located; journalists are comfortable working there. There are Wi-Fi and TV-sets everywhere. The drivers highly assessed the big boxes, modern equipment, and perfect surface.”

Kolesa.ru, 25.08.15: “Along with politicians, the first Russian pilot of Formula-1, Vitaly Petrov, the pilot of G-Drive Racing Roman Rusinov, and pilots of SMP Racing Kirill and Anton Ladygin welcomed the guests.

The drag racing in Grozny gathered not only regular participants of the Championships of Russia, but also new drivers, who managed to show good results.”

Not every resort will receive development aid

In the current economic situation in the North Caucasus it is impossible to develop the nine resorts first selected, the Minister for the North Caucasus, Lev Kuznetsov, said at the meeting in Grozny. It was decided to concentrate the efforts until 2020 primarily on the Arkhyz, Elbrus and Veduchi resorts.

Russkaya Planeta, 08/25/15: "The meeting discussed the organization of work on the restructuring of the state program of development of the North Caucasus Federal District until 2025 and the development of a sub-program of socio-economic development of the Chechen Republic for 2016-2025 years."

Lev Kuznetsov drew attention to the necessity of focusing on the main directions of the development program. He added that now we need to start the preparation of regional sub-programs until 2025.

REGNUM, 08/25/15: "The state program of the development of the North Caucasus Federal District until 2025 was adopted in December 2012. Its planned funding amounted two trillion rubles. Thus, it was planned that the budget funds will amount to only 10% of the total. The remaining 90% are means from extra-budgetary sources.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Khloponin, who is a former presidential envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District of the Russian Federation, the means from the budget should be sent exclusively to the objects of social infrastructure - roads, hydrotechnical facilities and others. First of all, extra-budgetary sources of financing of the state program are the means of natural monopolies, large corporations and companies such as the North Caucasus Development Corporation, JSC Resorts of the North Caucasus.

Chechnya started to produce electricity

On August 22nd the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, opened the Kokadoy small hydroelectric power station on the Argun river in the Itum-Kalinsky District. Its capacity is 1.3 MW, he wrote in his blog on LiveJournal.

PlanFox.ru, 08/26/15: "The units of the first Chechen small hydropower station are equipped with German and Czech equipment and, according to the conclusion of an independent environmental impact assessment, are harmless to the environment. The construction of the hydroelectric power station cost the country 213 million rubles, and was financed by the budget of the region. The Kokadoy hydroelectric power station is the first from the variety of power plants which will be built near the River Argun.

The next from the four facilities will be the Satellite station with a capacity of 1.2 MW. The construction of two other hydroelectric power stations - Guhoy (2.1 MW) and Ushkaloi (4.8 MW) - is planned.

In order to ensure all mountain regions with their own power, according to the Minister of Industry and Energy of Chechnya, Halas Taimaskhanov, they need to build a few more small hydro power plants. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, noted that the program of development of small hydropower plants in the republic is designed to make the republic fully volatile. The development of its own energy in the region will be continued, currently a 400 MW thermal power plant is being constructed in Grozny."

North Caucasus news agency, 8/23/15: "It is noted that the Kokadoy hydroelectric power station is the first of fifteen small hydropower plants planned in Chechnya. Its construction near the Argun and Sunzha rivers will completely solve the problem of energy supply in the region, which was provided partly by neighboring Dagestan until recently. "

Police will provide discipline at weddings

A wedding police unit has started to work in Adygea. Its task is a rapid response to the information about violations committed by the participants of weddings. The creation of the unit was initiated by the Interior Ministry.

Chechen-Georgian relations have acquired structure

The committee of Chechen-Georgian Friendship has been created in Grozny. The initiators stressed that Georgians are not only Russia's closest neighbors, but a related nation, relations with whom have recently been suspended due to the complex international political situation.

State television Grozniy, 08/25/15: "The proposal to establish the committee was made during a round-table discussion titled 'The strengthening of international, interfaith and cultural relations in the Caucasus', which was held in the banquet hall of the Palace of Youth. It was suggested during the discussion of Georgian-Chechen relationships. The main objective of the committee of Chechen-Georgian friendship will be to fill this gap. As a result of the vote, Islam Saidaev was elected the chairman.
