Olga Zinovieva: "What happens to our young people today, will happen to our country tomorrow"

The co-chairman of the Zinoviev club of Rossiya Segodnya, Olga Zinovieva, told Vestnik Kavkaza about what spiritual values young people lack today in Russia.

"The problem of young people is the most painful subject. What happens to our young people today, will happen to our country tomorrow," Olga Zinovieva claimed. According to her, "Leaving this area of comprehensive education, hoping that someone else from the outside is going to deal with it, just like how they do not cook themselves in the army now, food is being sent from some organizations which are doing it outside, expecting that there will be some kind of role model, if we won’t create it, we cannot expect that. What is lost today will not be restored tomorrow. The whole of society, uniting all the forces, culture, upbringing, education, literacy in all senses – this is what we have to give to young people.”

Olga Zinovieva is sure that society has not paid enough attention to young people: "We did not look after them. And to be offended by them, first of all we should blame ourselves. We need to look in the mirror and ask "who is to blame?" We are guilty. We started it in the 90s, doing household plots and private cars. The value of a man is in his intransience, not in what labels will be put on you, at what resort you relax. Children should read books, children should be raised by great literature, great art. And, thank God, Russian culture always had it, without a need to refer to some Western defectors with bad taste."

As an example of such Western products, Olga Zinovieva named the infamous play "Tannhauser": "you can see disgusting things in theaters right now. The play Tannhauser is one of the latest examples. Why are those people, who are not specialists, not experts, people who worked in the West, coming, and why are they coming to our country with their garbage? It is necessary to think about it. We have to think about what is happening on television, it is necessary to look at what is published and how. We must look at what subjects are taught in the universities, how, and why this took place. You always have to look for the cause. It exists. And we are the cause. We did not look after our children."
