Online project "Through the centuries, through the years - never forget!"

The online project "Through the centuries, through the years, never forget!" is part of the intergovernmental project "International Winners Forum" Great Victory, achieved by unity," which has been carried out for 10 years by the North-South political science center with the support of the Interstate Humanitarian Fund cooperation of the CIS member states This is a series of video interviews telling about specific people who have borne the heavy burden of the ordeals of the war years.

In the plots of the project, experts, public figures, activists of search movements, leaders of patriotic organizations of Russia and the Commonwealth states share family, very personal, stories. They talk about the real events of the war years, the participants of which were members of their families, representatives of the older generation. About how the memory of these events is transmitted to their descendants.

Today, we, the heirs of the generation of winners, live in different states. But to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War is a matter of honor for all of us. Because in the battles for victory shoulder to shoulder, our grandfathers — sons and daughters of different nations, representatives of many nationalities — stood to death. The Great Victory gained by unity is sacred and indivisible. This is our common victory, which today should serve the development of friendship, strengthening mutual understanding and trust between peoples ... Each of us has a story, and it is very important for us, because the history of the family, the history of parents is sacred to us. These are our heroes. A little touch of great heroism.

Today, the head of the expert council of Baku Network Elkhan Aleskerov talks about relatives who have suffered the hardships of the war.

“I would like to dwell on the story that connected me with the Great Patriotic War. My father and four of his brothers. One had a reservation, he was a railwayman. It had the whole family, all the household, wives, children. Four brothers, including including my father, participated in this war, only my father returned from the war, he fought for five years, was drafted in 1941. A graduate of the department of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry, an engineer became a captain, commander of a mortar platoon, participated in battles until March 1945 In March, Stalin issued a decree that it was necessary to restore the national economy, and his father was recalled, he returned all wounded, in orders.

Every time I asked my father what was in the war, he said: “I am back! We are Caucasian people! I am interested in the fate of my younger brother Agakerim, he had no one. When you pray, pray for him. I want you to find his grave and pray for him. ” I was lucky to find his grave. In the documentary “Notes of the Partisan” by Grigory Zhilyaev, I found the story of my uncle Agakerim Aleskerov, and then his grave in a military cemetery in the city of Trieste. Uncle died on May 1, 1945. He was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War, but did not receive it. After the award, his uncle received a concussion, was captured, and later his fate brought to the partisans in Italy, "said Elkhan Aleskerov.

- What does Victory Day mean to you?

- Each of us has a story, and it is very important for us, because the history of the family, the history of parents is sacred for us. We on this story were brought up and bring up our children. This is very important and very necessary. In addition, it is very important in terms of educating a civilian person. Because when he realizes that you can fight side by side with a representative of another nation for some ideals, this is also an educational process.

- What stories about the events of World War II do you remember from childhood?

- Father said that when there was a battle in the forest with the Germans, they came to him before taking up positions and asked: “Mirza, can I go left?” My father said: “Guys, this is war, this is not football. Go as ordered. So you will survive. Warfare is the study of life. ”

- As your father celebrated Victory Day?

- His frontline friends came to Baku several times. Then my mother said: “You don’t go there. Go to the yard. ” They gathered, sang songs. We knew you couldn’t make noise.

- What is the importance of preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War?

- Azerbaijan honors the dead soldiers, officers, graves are guarded, books are published ... There can be no two opinions here. If the current generation shares a different ideology, if it does not want to celebrate [Victory Day], then it is not necessary to correct the opinion. This is both humanly wrong and historically wrong. But the historical truth is that fascism is evil, and as a result of the atrocities of fascism, a huge number of people died.

- What would you wish veterans and citizens of your country?

- I wish everyone health. When in a family, among people, among people, there are elders, then not everything is lost, there are guidelines through which we can correctly perceive the world. All that they could, they did. We owe them a lot.
