Senior officials in the US government are seriously concerned about the relations between Russia and the US. According to the opinion of many members of the US elite, a new round of the cold war could be far more devastating than the first one, which ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. The political differences between the two countries have an extremely negative impact on the geopolitics of the world as a whole, which is why the countries need to seek ways of cooperation.

The essence of the matter is that the US and Russia are facing the threat of ISIS, and in such a case they would be better to cooperate at all levels, and not to participate in the elimination of the militants individually, which is much less efficient than a joint struggle. However, the US leadership has a fear of strengthening the position of Russia in the world political arena, so the country is not willing to make joint efforts, which in turn leads to greater confrontation.

However, there can be no real security in the Middle East and the world as a whole without cooperation with Russia. If terrorists get nuclear or chemical weapons, then it will be not about political interests, but there will be attempts made to save the world as such. That is why Russian-American cooperation is essential, at least in this area.

Europe is no longer able to solve the world's problems, being divided by the crisis associated with the influx of migrants from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Germany leans towards Russia, but at the time the country was an ally of the United States. As the unofficial leader of the EU, Germany is also putting pressure on other member states, so that in fact Europe is on Russia's side. There is even a probability that in the next few years Berlin will enter into an alliance with Beijing and Moscow.

Obviously, if the United States still takes the responsibility of unleashing a new cold war, it is unlikely that in this case they will get any advantage. The international community is acutely aware of the ability of Russia to solve the problems of the world both politically and strategically.
