Russian and Azerbaijani youth find common interests

Yesterday in Moscow, in the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, the main events of the four-day 6th Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum started. The event was organized by the Dagestan State University with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Today the forum will continue its work in Makhachkala.

"This forum has been held for the 6th time in a row. It is very important for the friendship between the Azerbaijani and Russian youth. Naturally, the friendship is created on the foundation of the mutual knowledge and communication with each other. There are common interests between the Russian and Azerbaijani youth. It is easy to find those interests. Young people find them themselves. For both ministries and for the federal agency of Russia, for the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the main thing is to support the youth, create conditions for communication and expression of their thoughts, create the common platforms on which to work, and  find something important for both countries, ”Azad Rahimov, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, told Vestnik Kavkazka.

"The youth forum is always a very good, big deal. In the field of education, we are engaged in the oil and gas industry, and in Azerbaijan, it is  very developed. We learn from each other, and we learn more from them. I am very pleased that such a forum is held at our university. This is how contacts are formed in the field of science and in the field of education. Such forums are of a great benefit, "Alexander Muradov, the pro-rector for Research at the Gubkin Russian State University told Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Russia has maintained friendly, warm, family relations with all those republics that have now become independent states. Many countries send their children to us, knowing that we pay much attention to international education and respect for the culture of those countries from which they come. Azerbaijani students studying with us are distinguished by respect for traditions, respect for elders, deep respect for their ancient culture. This enriches all others who see that there are students who are proud of their history. This is great wealth for us when children from other countries come, study well and at the same time remain carriers of the culture of their country, ”Marina Filatova, pro-rector for Teaching and Studies at the Gubkin State University told Vestnik Kavkaza.

"We hold a friendship festival where students represent the culture of their countries, perform dances and songs, arrange a national cuisine festival where they cook national dishes themselves. Everyone understands how much love is invested in this, the efforts of the students who want to share their unique national culture with others. This pride for their people, for the culture of their country, is the most important thing.’’
