The status of the official languages of the United Nations are Arabic, Chinese, English, French and Russian, and the organization provides a platform where representatives of each country can express their views. The idea is that the UN should be a mechanism by which governments of different countries find common ground and work together to solve problems. However, experts believe that from the state where the UN Charter was signed 70 years ago, the threat of destruction is coming.
The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, has recalled that in 1990, 22 leading countries signed the Charter of Paris for a New Europe, the new model of the world order after the Cold War. However, in 1991 there was another version of the US National Security Strategy, which established the idea that the Americans should not allow the appearance of a state leader in the world at the expense of their own national security. In 1991, the Americans recorded that the appearance in the world of at least one leader country (in addition to the United States) is contrary to their national interests as the leading state. This thesis was subsequently developed, and in the latest version of the US National Security Strategy, which was approved by President Obama in February this year, there is a thesis of the sole American leadership in the world, which is repeated more than 100 times. That is, it is no longer a controversial idea, it is an uninsurable discussion axiom," the senator believes.
Meanwhile, in his opinion, if the question is whether the world is unipolar or multipolar, then the strategic interests of Russia in the world correspond to the tough defense of the rights of the UN, which must remain the cornerstone of international security and cooperation, as it was in previous decades.
