The world exhibition EXPO-2017 opened in Astana on June 10th. Kazakhstan became the first state in the post-Soviet space to receive the right to hold such an event. The EXPO is the largest international exhibition, which for many years since 1851, became the flagship of industrialization and the latest scientific and technological achievements. The world exhibition is held annually, and each time is dedicated to a separate theme. This year, the main theme is green energy. A slogan of this year  exhibition ‘Energy of the Future’. 115 countries and 22 international organizations participate in the event. The total area of the exhibition complex is 174 hectares.

The main pavilion of the EXPO is a giant sphere, 80 meters in diameter, with a total height of 100 meters. The sphere is the largest building of this type in the world. According to the idea of the author of the construction project, the sphere symbolizes ‘the last drop of oil’.

Each of the floors of the sphere is dedicated to a certain type of renewable source of energy: water, biomass, wind, sun, space and the kinetic energy.

The interactive stands in a futuristic style are one of the features of the exhibition.

On the last floor, visitors can see a dizzying view of the inner space of the sphere.
