New book about the people of Ossetia
Author: Alan Kasaev, 1st Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of the Moscow State University of Printing Arts named after Ivan Fedorov

The book by Chermen Kasayev, the well-known figure in the health and spa business of Ossetia, entitled "My Land and My Countrymen", has been published by the Moscow publishing house AIRO-XXI. The book describes the unique destiny of the doctors and teachers who created the modern system of healthcare in South Ossetia. The pages of the history of Ardon, the native city of Chermen Kasayev, located in the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania, and of his family dynasties appear to the reader, as well as the unique atmosphere of human relations of the last century.

In August 2012, the 80th anniversary of Chermen Kasayev will be celebrated. Unfortunately, he did not live until this anniversary; he died in the arms of his wife Bella on the night of June 7, 2011. The book contains some of the notes Chermen Kasayev made in the last ten years, obeying an irresistible direction of his conscience which formed the following motto: despite all the difficulties and problems, he tried to see only the good side of other people, their bright features. "I knew a lot of interesting people who have made a significant contribution to the development of our people, and especially those who worked in the field of public education and health. It would be wrong if my knowledge about them will leave, because these people created the foundations of modern Ossetia. I'll tell you about them, and I’ll tell only good things," Chermen explained.

In this way, he created the sketches on teachers and doctors of his native Ardon. He loved Ardon truly, deeply and sincerely, like a mother or father, and till the last days he did his best for his townsmen. He was happy like a young man when his memoirs were published in the local newspaper; he often appeared on the local TV channel with his tales about the history which was not so old, but already forgotten. This book appeared through his gratitude to those who helped him in this unselfish activity and his desire to preserve the memory of a great man, citizen and patriot of Ardon and the whole of Ossetia for himself, his children and grandchildren. This is the book of Chermen Kasayev, a true resident of Ardon, about his native town and those people who created Ardon, an ornament of the whole of Ossetia.
