The Georgian Times newspaper published a report on the press conference given by Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, where he, in particular, spoke about the nomination of a candidate for president from the "Georgian Dream" coalition in the upcoming elections in October. According to Ivanishvili, the decision to nominate the current Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Margvelashvili as a candidate was made a long time ago. The prime minister considers Margvelashvili "a great statesman"; in his life he met no more than two people like Margvelashvili. Ivanishvili is willing to work with such a president for many years, and he is already sure of his victory.
Regarding his future, Prime Minister hinted that he would not fulfill his promise to retire from politics after a couple of years: "I am in the service of my country, and I’ll stay here if it is necessary. Even if I do go away, it is only in order to tackle more challenging tasks. "
The Prime Minister expressed the view that in Europe there are almost no skeptics who would have considered his government as a threat to the Georgian opposition or as a pro-Russian force. With regard to relations with Russia, Ivanishvili is willing to compromise, but not to the detriment of the interests of his own country. The normalization of relations with Moscow, given the complexity of issues related to the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and Georgia's accession to NATO, according to the Prime Minister, can take years. "We are pleased to have gone to a compromise with Russia”, he said, “but we do not have anything that we could yield to it."

Azerbaijan is preparing for the establishment of a new political union - the National Council of Democratic Forces, the idea of which was promoted by writer Rustam Ibrahimbekov. This is the first time in the history of the modern Azerbaijan the opposition has received the chance to participate in the presidential elections within a broad alliance. According to the "Azadlig" newspaper, the idea has found support in the opposition camp and was met with hostility by the authorities. According to sources involved in the process of formation of associations, the official announcement of its creation is scheduled for May 28 - Independence Day of Azerbaijan. The initiators of the process - among them there are such large parties as the "Musavat" party, the Popular Front of Azerbaijan, recently created movement "El" - try to involve the entire spectrum of the opposition forces of the republic in the union. However, the paper recognizes that today the creation under the banner of the National Council of the unity of the opposition forces has quite a few "gotchas." The publication considers the most dangerous thing the probability that the initiators under any pretext, guided by personal or group interests, will certainly narrow format of association, not allowing the expansion of its scope. Another danger, according to the newspaper, is the reluctance of any of the invited parties to participate in the union of political forces. "We have already seen”, political analyst Zafar Guliyev said, “that the main accusation against the opposition forces of the republic from the international bodies lays in the fact that the opposition forces participate in the elections separately. If the united opposition will be the power to set in motion the masses of the people, the attention and support of the democratic institutions of the West can be expected".

According to the Azerbaijani newspaper "Echo", the proportion of domestically produced goods increases in the market of the country. To date, it reaches 60%. The domestic market is filled with its own production of agriculture and energy sector. In other sectors, there is also a gradual substitution of imported products by domestic products. Especially, it can be seen in the building materials and light industry products. However, building materials are represented in the local market by only 40 of Azerbaijani own products. Products such as wood, glass, marble, and more are brought to Azerbaijan from other countries.
As for the food sector, here, according to the publication, we can talk about increasing domestic production, particularly in the processing industry, which was greatly supported by the emergence of new enterprises for processing of agricultural, dairy and meat products. In total, only about 15% of food is imported to Azerbaijan from other countries.

One of the most pressing and debated topics in Armenia in recent years is migration. According to surveys of the Gallup American Sociological Service, 40% of the population wants to leave Armenia. According to the "Business Express" newspaper which is published in Yerevan referring to the national statistical service, the negative migration balance in 2012 amounted to 49.7 thousand people, and only in the first quarter of 2013 - 35.5 thousand people. But if the earlier migration balance sometimes had a positive value, since 2008 there is a stable upward trend of departing people. According to the paper, the main reason why people want to leave Armenia is social and economic reason. The unemployment rate here is 19%, the poverty rate – 34%. In addition, the country has a very high level of stratification of society, the economy, according to the publication, is largely oligarchic, wages and working conditions in the private sector suggests the exploitation of wage labor. Injustice, corruption, lack of growth prospects force the representatives of different professions and different strata to think about leaving, including upper-middle class. The latter category does not see prospects in the country not only for themselves, but also for their children. There are not enough qualified personnel in the field of information technology, banking, construction in the country, and businessmen complain about the decline in domestic demand.
Year after year, the Armenian authorities, according to "Business Express", did not take into account the dangerous trends and urged not to create panic, given "the mobility of the Armenian nation." Only two years ago, at the meeting on migration policy, Sargsyan acknowledged that the only factor that will put an end to migration is to create the conditions in the country for which people are leaving it. But today the situation has only worsened, and recent electoral processes and the appointment of the government clearly showed that the positive changes in the socio-economic life are not worth waiting, the paper concludes.
