Pierre Richard cannot move to Russia

The famous French actor Pierre Richard arrived in Moscow to present his wines. He has long owned a small estate in the Languedoc - Roussillon region on the picturesque coast of the Mediterranean Sea. After visiting these places, Richard decided to restore about 20 hectares of vineyards. Wines of the first years of the new crop in the estate have received critical acclaim.

Many generations of Russian viewers appreciate Pierre Richard primarily for his striking roles. Movies "The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe", "The Toy", "The Umbrella Coup", "ComDads” and many others have become classics of French cinema. Pierre Richard also starred in the French-Georgian film "The Thousand-and-One Recipes of a Chef in Love”, in which he played a French chef-traveller, who finds himself in Georgia.

The actor appeared in front of reporters in the role of a winemaker. It turned out that for him the two professions of an actor and of a winemaker are complementary to each other: “When you're making a movie you give pleasure to people, and having a glass of wine is also a great pleasure. Even sometimes why can’t we combine two kinds of pleasure - a good movie and a good glass of wine? It just so happened that traditional French wine is something most important, one of the most important structures. Perhaps this is like vodka for you”, Richard said.

According to him, French wine has shown for many years its quality and exclusivity. But now Richard is sure that there are plenty of other countries that make good wine - Italy, Spain, and even the Americans have good wine. He actually loves Australian and South African wines. Now there are a lot of interesting things. “Now wine is not something exclusively French. The only thing that still remains exclusively for the French is that they drink it almost every day at the table. Wine is quite specific, because it depends on your taste. It's like a picture: there are pictures that are popular, and there are pictures that are not popular. We must, of course, taste it. And the more we taste, the more we begin to understand it and understand what exactly we need to choose”, Richard said.

He really wanted to taste Russian wines, but he did not find them in the restaurant. “Ask, say in your restaurant, to include your wines on the wine lists”, - he said.

Speaking about the possibility to get the Russian citizenship, like Gérard Depardieu, Richard said that he would be pleased if he would be given Russian citizenship, but he would not be able to live here. He could not leave his grandchildren. He is happy to come back every time to Russia, but he just cannot separate from his family.
