The city of Pytigorsk was celebrating its 230th anniversary at the previous week-end. The main festivities took place in the glade near the slopes of Mashuk. The glade was visited by people of all nationalities living in the city - Russians, Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Greeks, Ossetians, Karachays, Circassians, and Cossacks.
The city was congratulated on its anniversary by the Deputy Presidential Envoy in the North Casasian Federal District, Yury Oleynikov and the Archbishop of Stavropol and Vladikavkaz, Pheophan. The first one has called the city "the best city of the Caucasus and the gate in the world", and the second underlined that the main city of the federal district is always at the center of public attention.
A lot of different activities such as a cooking contest took place in the framework of the celebration. The city was visited by famous Russian and foreign popular musicians, that took part is the specialy organized concert.
