Priorities of social and economic development for 2011 The construction of industrial facilities that will allow for the creation of 3,500 jobs is to start in 2011 in Chechnya. Four innovative projects have been adopted by the republic's administration: development of solar energy use, associated gas use, automobile construction and hothouse vegetable-growing development. The total value of these projects is 17.7 billion rubles. The project 'Innovative techno-stock' is also being launched this year. It includes the construction of a modern building-materials plant. Another important event for the Republic's economy is the start of an oil-processing plant construction in Grozny. According to Russian PM Vladimir Putin, this project is expected to help Chechnya win back its title as Russia's major oil-associated industry center. The plant will become operational in 2014, and the total sum of investments reach 7 billion rubles. Some of the future income is expected to be invested into the Republic's social sphere.
One of the most important priorities of future development is the road and transport complex, and this problem was also specially noted by Mr Putin. The federal budget will support Chechnya on this issue as well.
Another priority for the future development of the Chechen economy is the automobile industry. Some 20,000 cars are expected to be assembled by the 'Chechen-Auto' company at their plant in Argun. The company operates in co-operation with major Russian automobile producers.
