Chinese business in Ingushetia

In ancient times, the Ingush controlled one of the Great Silk Route directions.

In modern Ingushetia, Chinese business is represented by dozens of Chinese selling at markets. However, recently the authorities of Zhangjiagang have stated their intention to invest in Ingush enterprises. Today Zhangjiagang is rapidly developing.

The head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov believes the republic should attract major businessmen from China. First of all Ingushetia is interested in purchasing building and agricultural products processing equipment and facilities for development of private business. As for security, Yevkurov stressed that in recent 18 months criminal accidents, including terrorist activity, decreased by 40%.

For implementation of decisions made at the international universal exhibition in Shanghais “EXPO-2010,” the Chinese delegation visited Magas. The chairman of the republican government, Musa Chiliyev, supports Chinese investors who are interested in natural resources, unique water, and tourism. Investors are to be provided with tax benefits.

As the result of the visit, the administrations of Zhangjiagang and Magas signed the memorandum on cooperation development in spheres of science, techniques, and culture. The ministry of economy of Ingushetia and the engineering company of Zhangjiagang agreed on trade and economic cooperation.
