Solar energy can be used when no other energy is available
Energy plants of heightened efficiency based on multi-crystal silicon will become standard issue for Dagestan: The ‘DagSilicon’ corporation plans to introduce their new high-tech silicon modules for solar energy processing, which are more efficient than any other analogues existing. Personal solar energy processing modules are widespread in Western countries. At present, one module of 1 square meter is capable of producing 150-160 watts, but the new technology proposed by ‘DagSilicon’ boosts this figure to 200 watts.
Idris Idrisov, the author of this silicon technology and the chief executive officer of ‘DagSilicon’ company told VK about his invention. He started his career in the solar module production business in 2006, when he opened the ‘DagSilicon’ enterprise. Back then, they used raw materials provided by other companies.
Today the company’s office in Makhachkala is fully provided with electricity by solar modules during the whole year. Indris said that they had no problems in cloudy weather, which can last for months in Makhachkala. The first solar energy station the company installed was for the children’s hospital in Makhachkala, and it gave 10-year warranty for its products. After the hospital, the enterprise had many different clients, from the border patrol service to private house-owners. According to Mr Idrisov, the modules themselves are not expensive, however, some additional equipment is needed for them to operate.
‘DagSilicon’ is only working at 40-45% of its full capacity, so it is looking for buyers outside of Dagestan. The enterprise already has branch-offices in Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Astrakhan and Pyatigorsk. Future plans are ambitious: Idris plans to sell his products in China, Germany and the countries of Latin America. He also plans to build a new plant of silicon products in Dagestan that will create some 450 jobs.
As for his efficiency-boosting know-how, Mr Idrisov says he had to change the silicon’s crystal structure at micro-level. In the end, he hopes to reach 350-360 watt efficiency of his modules.
