Ingush government reports economic results of 2009.
The president of Ingushetia, Unus-Bek Yevkurov, has reported last year's economic results to the National Assembly, and pointed out the major objectives for 2010.
Yevkurov said that 2009 was full of economic challenges due to the economic crisis. He pointed out that all the regions in the Russian Federation had experienced serious difficulties.
"The current situation is far from being perfect, but at least the most pessimistic forecast has not been realized,” Yevkurov said.
Overall, this year has been characterized by economic growth in several areas. For instance, the volume of export has increased by 15.7%, agricultural production has grown by 8.7%, investment - by 94.1%, retail - by 4.8%, taxation charges - by 21.8%, average monthly salary - by 18.8%, real income per capita - by 4.1%. In order to sustain the development of manufacturing industries, several investment projects have been implemented, including the reconstruction of the existing production lines and the launching of new ones.
The head of the republic also pointed out a general decrease of the production rate by 2.9%. The primary downturn was caused by a crisis in the oil production industry. In recent years, the oil production rate has fallen dramatically due to the depletion of fields. At the same time, the production of oil products has increased by 25.5% amounting to 26.3 million roubles.
On the other hand, positive developments have been mentioned by Yevkurov with regards to the food industry. In particular, the production rate has reached 38.8 million roubles. The production of meat and dairy products has increased by 1.8% and 2.9% accordingly.
The situation with the transportation industry remains fairly difficult: this is especially true with regards to auto and aviation transport.
Yevkurov also stressed that the government had invested 7.96 billion roubles into the social and economic sectors, exceeding the level of 2008 by 94.1%.
