A general plan for the development of Magas has been presented
15 years have passed since the foundation of the new Ingush capital of Magas, but specialists report that the speed of its development is far from that desired. The town was established in an open field, 4 km south-east of Nazran. 'Magas' means 'sun-town'.
Magas remains a residential settlement. Its residents go shopping to Nazran, the town is saturated with small cottages and the streets are rather narrow. The general plan for the town’s development has gone through several transformations, none of which were eventually realized.
A new general plan was recently presented. It stipulates the construction of a mosque, a museum of national history and a medical center.
