Olympic development strategy approved by Russian Olympic Committee

Future Olympic athletes will be provided with all the necessary training equipment and facilities

The Russian Olympic Committee promised to supply candidates for the Olympic team with all the necessary equipment and facilities, to prevent any possibility of a repeat of past failures at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

The training of the Olympic team is a challenging task, and even the opening of several free sports-schools and increasing the salaries of sports instructors to select talented young people is unlikely to see positive results in 2014.

Meanwhile, most emphasis is being laid on promotional activities. Sports officials declare that it is vital to increase the interest in sport among the population, as it is the only way to build a healthy nation. The role of new technology in the forthcoming Olympics is also being stressed.

Non-budgetary investments have already been allocated to Sochi construction sites, with $115 million invested by the international company grouping ‘Itera’ and 16 billion rubles by Russia's ‘Kubanenergo’, among other deals.
