Sochi-2010: Stavropol region 1

A delegation from the Stavropol region, headed by the governor, Valery Gaevsky, held negotiations with domestic and foreign companies on new enterprises and joint projects during the International Economic Forum “Sochi-2010”. An agreement on joint construction of a solar plant in Kislovodsk was reached with the company “Hevel” (a joint enterprise of the ROSNANO and Renova state corporations). An experimental-industrial modular solar power station is to be built in Kislovodsk, as its climate provides for the maximum solar days a year. The station's peak capacity is to reach 12.3 MW. It is planned to establish a research center at the station. After the distribution plan is agreed the parties are to start realizing the plans. Negotiations on low-power technologies took place at the forum. The Mashimpeks company was offered to participate in a project to build houses for car factory workers in the town of Mikhaylovsk. The regional special-purpose program could be developed with the participation of several companies, such as Vissman and Alstom. The R-Farm company, which specialises in production of pharmaceuticals, was offered to site an enterprise on the territory of the regional business-park “Farmatsevtika” (“Pharmacy”) in Stavropol, that is being created as part of a regional pharmaceutical cluster development project. Issues of investment in developing the region's tourism infrastructure was discussed with AFK Sistema, Russia's largest financial corporation, and the Slavyanskaya Group holding. Several agreements were signed between companies and loan agencies. The AGRRIKO company signed a contract with the Turkish company Sigma Process Technologies on a
corn-processing project. The Ministry of Economic Development signed an agreement with the Uralsib Insurance closed joint-stock company on cooperation in the insurance industry.
