Won't all these lies destroy our state?

I have to make a confession. I was frightened when Azerbaijan was
declared the winner of the 2011 Eurovision song contest. What if
tomorrow the adversary starts a military campaign, and it will turn
out that all insurance of so-called "experts" that our country is
ready to repulse any assault are nothing but lies?  I'm not worried
about myself - I will go to the front to fight for our Motherland -
but cannot stand thinking that our parents, our grandparents, our
children will have to live during wartime.

I'm quite certain that our present day rulers will flee trying to save
their own relatives, when the adversary will attack us. They have
wealth to lose. They have accounts in western banks, they have
property there, of course they will leave the country to enjoy
luxurious life abroad. All this wealth was stolen from the state, from
us. They have been steeling for years, trying to pursue us that
Azerbaijan is responsible for all our problems.

Twenty years ago they told us that we only had to liberate the holy
land of Artsakh and the whole world would recognize its independence.
Two decades have passed, but no one recognized its independence. In
fact European countries are now more likely trust Azerbaijan.

They told us that we only had to liberate Artsakh and life in Armenia
wouldbecome much better. Two decades have passed and now we are much poorer than twenty years ago, when the war started. A lot of those,
who fought for Artsakh's independence were forces to lieve their own
country blaming its rulers. In the same time, a host of bastards have
made millions of dollars that allow them to luxuriate.

We were told that Azerbaijani oil resources were scarce, that
Azerbaijan wouldn't manage to launch any international projects.
Nowadays, when two decades have passed, such pipelines as
Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan, Baku-Novorosiysk, Baku- Supsa,
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum are already put into operation. Nabucco may be
put into operation some day.

As a result Azerbaijan is become richer and richer, more and more
influential. The international community now has to listen to their
arguments. The quality of life in our two countries now differs
greatly. Some people even believe that soon the population of the
liberated territories will ask Azerbaijan to allow them to return.

Who knows... It will definitely not become worse, simply because it
can't be worse than today. And the reason for all that is that we were
told a lie.
