Last week in Makhachkala suburbs the deputy head of the Dagestan department of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Magomed Murtazaliyev, his daughter, nephew and driver were killed. This crime is one of the terrorist attacks in Dagestan, committed last week. A day before the incident a car, where supposedly a bomb was carried, exploded, four died, five passerbies were hurt. Meanwhile, in Buinaksk the car of the head of the district police was attacked by fire, two bodyguards were killed. On September 22 militants exploded two bombs in the cross-road of Yermoshkin and Dakhadayev streets. According to the Interior Ministry of Dagestan, a police officer was killed, more than 60 people were hurt. Not only shops were damaged and destroyed, but also about 40 flats of the local residents.
After these incidents the head of the republic ordered to speed up implementation of the programme “Secure City.” Magomedsalam Magomedov, who had been in Moscow at that moment, cut short his visit and convened the meeting of the Security Council. He stated the situation in the republic becomes strained, but is under control.
“The committed crime proves cynicism, absence of moral and religious values of people, who did it. They are militants, enemies of the republic, striving for destabilization of the situation. They don’t like our constructive work, implementation of investment projects and establishing of new working places. We must rid Dagestan of them,” Magomedov said and urged the population to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies. He ordered to speed up the programme “Secure City.” He considers that each town should begin the work in this direction by itself. Also he urged ventures to establish video monitoring.
