Enough feeding Moscow, not the Caucasus

The Russian Investigation Committee has started legal action against one of the organizers of the so-called Russian March, Konstantin Krylov, who promoted the 'Enough feeding the Caucasus' slogan during the event. VK correspondent asked the head of the Russian Islamic Committee, Geydar Jemal, to say some words about the situation surrounding Russian nationalism.

- What can you say about the 'Enough of feeding the Caucasus' slogan?

- That's the slogan promoted by those who have nothing to to with Russia. Many so-called 'Russian nationalists' are Israeli agents. Such 'Russian nationalists' are often zionists as well. The best example is Rabbi Abram Shmulevich, known in St. Petersburg as Russian nationalist Igor Dyomin. The Caucasians are irritated, when such people present themselves as Russian nationalists.

Such actions may lead to desintegration of the Russian Federation. Caucasus is not the only territory that would secede from the federation, if the nationalists came to power. Such slogans provoke not only Caucasians, but other people as well, including those, who live in Siberia and the Russian Far East.

Moreover, the idea itself is untrue. The Caucasus is not the poorest region of Russia. There are a lot of regions that receive more subsidies from the federal government. In fact one should better support the idea, that regions should stop feeding Moscow. Moscow produces nothing except corruption and waste. Moscow is a city of corrupted officials, who control 90 percent of the national wealth. I say, enough feeding  Moscow!

- They say that terrorists are mostly those who were poor and unemployed. But the head of Ingushetia has recently disproved this belief by saying that the majority of those who join the militants have higher education and were decently employed.

- Yes, there are a lot of crazy myths about terrorists. Those who speak of terrorists in this manner don’t actually understand a thing about them and follow clichés. There is a great number of reasons why people join the militants. For example, in the imperial epoch wealthy people, even the nobles, joined armed opposition. Each time when the conflict with the oppositions becomes violent, we see that the ideological leaders of the armed opposition are well-educated, clever and wide-sighted people. For example, the famous Ilyich Ramirez Carlos, whose trial is no back on in France. Or the ‘Red brigades’ or the Red Army Faction – all members of these organizations belonged to higher classes of German society. All of them had a kind of inner independence. Poor people, who care only about daily bread, don’t start revolutions. So the upper classes try to take away the poor’s last possessions so that they couldn’t even think of any protest. A poor person has no resources to open his mind and gain a wider perspective.

 - What is your prognosis for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the NCFD?

- Traditionally, this is the region of the highest turnout. I think that the ruling party will win the majority of voices there and that their percent of advantage will be the highest in the whole Russian Federation.
