Disappearing Israeli teenagers and flare-up between Palestine and Israel

On June 12th three students of a religious school were lost in Israel in the West Bank – Eyal Ifrah, Gil Ad Shaer, and Naftali Frenkel. Faed Mustafa, the ambassador of the State of Palestine to Russia, expressed the view of the Palestinian side on the situation. The Israeli authorities have accused Hamas of kidnapping. The event triggered a flare-up between Israel and Palestine.

Faed Mustafa noted that “there is still no statement from any side that these people were kidnapped. If we imagine that it is a disappearance, rather than kidnapping, probably the picture will be clear. Several days ago Israel stated that the three young men had disappeared. Last week Israel built its policy and strategy, which touches on the problem in two ways. The first way is political and information; an information attack against the Palestinian people and the administration of Palestine. The second way chosen by Israel is escalation on locations, including the town of El Halil and other towns of the West Bank and Gaza. The Israeli actions against the Palestinian people rely on two arguments. First of all, it is the responsibility of our president and people for the kidnapping. Secondly, it is the fact that usually the Israeli mass media are focused on the fact that the kidnapping is a result of activity of the coalition government of Hamas and Fatah. Thirdly, it is that Mahmud Abbas is personally responsible for consequences of the kidnapping. This was stated by several politicians, including Netanyahu. Thus, several days ago Israel built its strategy and declared war against the Palestinian people. The Palestinians are being attacked and arrested. 330 Palestinians were arrested, including politicians, young people, the old, and so on. The operation is going on all over the West Bank day and night.”
