Sanctions against Russia have no relation to the events in Ukraine

Yesterday Arseniy Yatsenyuk declared to deputies of the Verkhovna Rada that he was resigning from the post of prime minister of Ukraine in connection with the disintegration of the coalition and the blocking of governmental initiatives. The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Turchynov, asked the "UDAR" and "Svoboda" parties, which acted as initiators of the dissolution of the parliamentary coalition, to propose a candidate for acting prime minister. And now experts consider that these events are capable of cardinally changing the political landscape in the country. At the same time, the committee of permanent representatives of EU countries expanded the sanctions list, having included on it the names of 15 citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, and also 18 companies. It is a question of sanctions in the spheres of the economy and the defense sector. The director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, the secretary of Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev and the leader of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov were included on the preliminary list of individuals against whom sanctions can be imposed. Moscow suspects that protectionist measures in the interests of certain companies masquerade as sanctions against the Russian Federation.Answering a question on how the situation in Ukraine corresponds to the economic sanctions which have been imposed in relation to Russia, the general director of the Center of Political Information Alexey Mukhin said: "In no way!"According to Mukhin, it is simply an information background which includes and amplifies on the orders of Washington, it is a pressure on public opinion through media structures, but it bears no relation to the real political events which are developing in Ukraine now.Speaking about for whom aggravation of the situation in Ukraine is favorable, Mukhin said: "Unfortunately, in this case the answer to this question arises - official Kiev and Washington. Actually, it is an artificially-stimulated headache which, it is assumed in the USA, will be the responsibility (I mean elimination of consequences, rehabilitation, etc.) of Russia and the EU. But before these, the USA will try to skim off all the cream - first of all the economic plan. They are not going to be responsible for anything else. It's the logic of their behavior in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya. It's unclear why it has to be repeated in Ukraine.
