Tomorrow one of the most beautiful, noble and smart women in the world marks her birthday – Mehriban Aliyeva. During all these years the First Lady of Azerbaijan has never said any rude word. At the same time she has managed to ingrain pride of Azerbaijan into friends and made those who thought badly about people who live in the country doubt their ideas and deeds by successes in the sphere of culture. The author of an article published in Armenian Report admits this.
Since Azerbaijan won Eurovision 2011, I am aghast. What if tomorrow the enemy decides to start a military campaign against us, and it turns out that all the words said by our “experts” that Armenia is ready to resist attacks of the hostile army are only being spread by people who are far away from the front.
I am not afraid for myself, as I will fight for my motherland, I am afraid for our women, the elderly, and children who will have to live in war conditions; it means death will be everywhere.
I have no doubts that the current authorities will leave the country as soon as a full-scale attack is started, trying to save their relatives and friends. They have a lot to lose – accounts and property in foreign countries. It means they have never excluded the possibility of escaping from the country at the expense of our money stolen from us. They stole it day by day and lied to the whole world that it was the Azerbaijani side that lied.
They lied to us that as soon as the sacred lands of Artsakh would be liberated the whole world would recognize its independence. 20 years passed and nobody had recognized the independence of Artsakh. And in increasing frequency we can hear speeches from European platforms, which seem to be written by Baku.
They lied to us that as soon as Artsakh is liberated the life of its residents and all Armenian citizens would become better and richer. 20 years passed, and our life is worse than before the war. Many of those who fought in the war had to leave the country, cursing the people who lied to us and doomed us to a half-starved life in the context of reports on billions of dollars spent on entertainments for bastards who called themselves the “Armenian leadership.”
They lied to us that Azerbaijan had scarce oil and gas resources and they could never implement any major international project. 20 years passed, and we see that the oil pipelines of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Novorossiysk, Baku-Supsa, and the gas pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum are functioning successfully. There is a possibility that the gas project of Nabucco is going to be launched as well.
As a result, Azerbaijan’s voice became louder in the international arena. The arguments of the enemy are accepted as doubtless facts. As a result, Azerbaijan prospers and becomes richer, while the gap between living standards in our countries is growing. And Grant Bagratyan is right when he says that if the situation doesn’t change, citizens of our country will ask Azerbaijan to shelter them. In the end it cannot be worse than now.
And then we saw what happened in Dusseldorf. We couldn’t even get into the final part, while Azerbaijan won Eurovision 2011. Ahead of the competition they tried to convince us that Emmy’s song for Eurovision is a masterpiece, and when people heard it, they all would vote for her; as for the song of the Azerbaijani duet, it was doomed to fail. Everybody can see how easy it is to dispel the lie. It is as rude as the behavior of Emmy’s team, which confused Armenia, where successes depended on falsification and a lie which was spread by top officials with Europe, where people acted decently even if they lost.
But the point is not in Emmy’s team's behavior. We get used to living a lie to defend the authorities. We get used to underestimating Azerbaijan. But what is the result? I have already spoke about it. But there is a risk that the authorities lie to us about the strength of our army. What could the consequences be? It could be the biggest disaster in the history of our nation, and our statehood could be buried under the lie in which we are living due to our authorities.
