US fake fight with Islamists

Yesterday militants of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIL) publicly executed Iraqi operator Raad Mohammed al-Azaui, his brother and two civilians. They have become new victims of the ISIL terrorists, which have already beheaded British citizens Alan Henning and David Haynes, Americans James Foley and Stephen Sotloffa and Frenchman Herve Gurdelya. According to ITAR-TASS, a new prisoner of the ISIL is British journalist John Cantley, captured by militants in Syria in 2012. The terrorists have already published three videos, in which he urges the West to stop the fight against the ISIL.

Director of the Center for Partnership of Civilizations of the Institute of International Studies of the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations Veniamin Popov believes that the ISIL poses a direct threat to Russia. "First, there have already been appeals like "Seize the Caucasus!" On the maps, which the ISIL draws, the Caucasus and Central Asia are included in the Islamic caliphate. Second, in there  Russian citizens fighting for the Islamic State, apparently, a few hundred people. Third, the first call to the caliphate was published not only in Arabic, English and French, but also in Russian. They have specialists in the Russian language and a very strong propaganda. When they blocked access to Facebook, they quickly came to our network Vkontakte and used it."

According to Popov, "shooter, who has recently been arrested  in Dagestan, has been to Syria, perhaps he has even served for the ISIL and returned to Russia to commit terrorist acts. For us, this is a serious threat." Popov believes that "Americans are interested in preserving tensions in this part of the world. Asia, in particular India, depend on oil from the Persian Gulf for 70%. Americans need these conflicts in order to keep Asia and their European allies  threatened. This chaos is beneficial for them. "

Head of the Caucasus Department of the CIS Institute, director of the Center for Public Policy Research, Vladimir Yevseyev believes that the United States and the Western coalition only imitate the fight against the Islamic state. "I do not see any possibility of the victory over the ISIL in the nearest future. Actually on the ground no one will fingt for the so-called coalition. If we look at the territory of Syria, Turkey, most likely, will not start a large-scale ground operation, it means that only the Syrian national army can struggle against the Islamic State. But if the United States wants to overthrow Bashar al-Assad, it is clear that there will  be no interaction between the coalition and the Syrian army", Yevseyev said.

Speaking about the possible assistance in the fight against the "IG" on the part of so-called moderate Islamists, the expert emphasizes that such a force in the region does not exist: "I see there only radicals, some of which are already a part of the Islamic state, while others will join in the nearest future. Therefore, if the United States wants to help the Islamists, calling them moderate, then surely they should understand that these weapons will be in the hands of precisely those Islamists who will fight for the Islamic state.

As for the Iraqi forces, Vladimir Yevseyev states that situation in Iraq is quite similar. "There are, for example, groups of Kurds, who do not want to fight outside the territory of Iraqi Kurdistan. Therefore, they can not be used as ground troops in the war against the Islamic state. There is also the Iraqi army, which in large part is controlled by Iran. There can be no interaction between Iran, the Iraqi army and the coalition forces. In the matter of fact there are no forces that could fight on the ground against the Islamic state. I do not really understand how the coalition led by the United States is trying to solve this problem."

Yevseyev believes that the United States only fake their struggle against the Islamists, pursuing its own interests. "Firstly, there is the hope that Bashar al-Assad still will be overthrown in Syria. Second, they are trying to engage in the fight against different countries in order to weaken them. I think that they have contributed to the rise to power of the Islamic state. It has  ruined transport corridors from Iran to Syria through the territory of Iraq . This is one of the goal which are currently achieved. The United States simulates combat against the Islamic state. It is clear that there can be no victory over the Islamic state in these circumstances, it would be impossible to defeat it,"  the military expert said.
