The decision to establish a special mission of the OSCE is part of Azerbaijan's general strategy. Azerbaijan is trying to draw the attention of the international community to the problem of
Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan looks forward to the results of the special mission that is due to visit the region in the first half of October. During the recent UN meeting in New York the co-chairs of the OSCE asked UN experts to take part in the work of the OSCE special mission.
The experts will visit the occupied territory of Azerbaijan and then announce their opinion. The mission will investigate all the facts regarding violation of international law by Armenia, human rights abuses and destruction of historic monuments.
It's very probable that the opinion of the special mission of the OSCE will be favourable to Azerbaijan. The experts will find out that the Azerbaijani complaints are not baseless, that serious violation of the international law has really taken place. The position of the international community will probably influence Armenian policy and make it more balanced.
