The biggest Russian flag will go to the North Pole as part of the cultural and patriotic project Arctic-2015, implemented under the auspices of the international environmental movement Live Planet.The project Arctic-2015 is dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The flag will be brought to the station Borneo, that is located on a drifting ice floe about 100 km from the northernmost point of the planet. With it on Borneo the flags of all regions of Russia will be deployed.Recently in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation the ceremony of transfer of flags was held in the framework of the project Arctic-2015 and Parade of Flags of regions of Russia. The authorities of all subjects of the federation passed flags to the member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and TV host Nikolai Drozdov.As Drozdov has stated to Vestnik Kavkaza, "promoting patriotism, a sense of the unified state of our people is extremely important, because there are external and even internal threats. We have sanctions that are pressing on us, and other strange things happening around. We must be united, and feel ourselves to be citizens of a strong independent state. And the main state symbols are very important, the flag, emblem and anthem. The flag is the first thing everyone sees when entering the country, when coming to government agencies.""We truly glorify this flag," promises Drozdov, "we have created the world's largest Russian flag. It is important now to give all people the feeling that we are one nation. We are under one flag. In addition, each region also has its flag, each region is proud of its own flag. Now we have these flags, and will deploy them in different places, particularly in the Arctic. It is a very interesting project. The mountain peoples of Russia, the North Caucasus – they respond so quickly, even faster than all other regions. Perhaps it is such a familiar pride of mountaineers in their republic, in their mountains."The expedition to the Arctic will be held from 4 to 8 April.
