The crisis economic situation in which Russia remains has damaged business, which has already had many problems. Sergey Katyrin, the president of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, tells how the CCI helps businessmen and how the organization is improving its working mechanisms.
He especially stressed the importance of experience exchange. Representatives of the Council of Heads of Chambers gather twice a year. “We do it in summer, so that they would not run to ministries or friends, we take them to a separate pension, there we have a day for talks, only experience exchange. Everyone has an opportunity to describe work, gets up, describes, and in terms of what can be used in work with the membership base, in the work with authorities, in the work with the law, in expansion of the service sector, and so on. In winter, we gather again and make a roundup, we dedicate about half a day to exchange of experience too. Colleagues sit here still, as it is called, from morning to evening, and that is the regime we work in,” Katyrin noted.
Sometimes, there are such cases that cannot be called the most advanced chambers, but they emerge and become interesting for all the others. According to the CCI head, the last time the Dagestani Chamber was telling about its work with those who wanted to inspect enterprises. Enterprises would not communicate with them. All communication functions are taken by the Chamber. 90% of their inspections with members of the chamber disappeared immediately. It is no secret that many inspectors of ours arrive with one goal,” Katyrin said. “So when such official relations begin, when a lawyer is sitting nearby, an accountant, economists start talking with the inspectors. Interest in the enterprise disappears fast.”
The head of the CCI also listed chambers which have the best image: “We have the Kuzbass Chamber working very well, we have a very innovative chamber in Tomsk. We have a good chamber in Altay, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Samara, Vologda. We have a very firm Urals chamber, the one in Yekaterinburg. We have a South Urals chamber – the one located in Chelyabinsk – which is a very firm chamber too. We have a very strong innovative chamber in Perm. And Krasnodar. There is a whole system of chambers, very firm. We have a very good chamber in Rostov-on-Don. In the center: Tula, Ryazan, Vladimir. The north-west: we have, naturally, Saint Petersburg, a very serious chamber.”
