Abkhazian veterans call upon Russia to extradite the former commander of the Georgian National Guard.
The influential veterans' organization in Sukhumi "Aruaa" has called upon the president of the country, Sergey Bagapsh, to insist on the extradition of the former commander of the Georgian National Guard, Tengiz Kitovani. Kitovani has been living in Moscow for several years.
However, Abkhazian officials are not ready to discuss this issue with Russia. The prime minister, Sergey Shamba, has said, "let God judge him". The issue is worth discussing, but the Abkhazian authorities don't want to put Moscow in an awkward position.
So why is Moscow not willing to extradite Kitovani to Abkhazia. He is a notorious criminal. He is accused of terrible crimes, and his guilt is obvious. There seem to be no answer to the question except that he is Moscow's agent.
