Counter Punch: “The USA is doing everything to prevent the convergence of Europe and Russia”

The independent American edition Counter Punch published an article today "Washington war against Moscow" about the true motives of the US against Russia. To date, Russia is the only country in the world that is able to confront America on its aggressive foreign policy. That is why it is so important for the US to destabilize the situation in the Eurasian region, not to lose its leading position in the world. The United States does not want an open war with Russia, that is why the state is doing everything to prevent the convergence of Europe, Russia and Asia. If there had not been an initiative of the US State Department for the revolution in Ukraine, which has diverted the spotlight, then America would be faced with the threat of the economic integration of Russia and Europe, which could lead to a decline in the share of the US GDP in the world. It was impossible to ignore the new emerging EU-Russia Union, while taking the deplorable prospect of gradual loss of control over the world's political and economic sector for the United States. That's the main reason why it was decided to sacrifice Ukraine.

For the US, the main foreign policy objective is to prevent the convergence of continents. For this purpose, an iron curtain of tanks, armored vehicles and artillery was restored along thousands of kilometers from the Baltic to the Black Sea around Europe. Thus, the United States is trying to isolate Russia and create a base for future US aggression. America is ready for victims, both human and financial, unless they help the state to achieve its goals. But what are the goals of Washington?

First of all, the US does not want an alliance between Russia and Germany, as it is a real force that threatens the power of the States. Therefore, the situation with Ukraine is not about sovereignty, democracy, or Russian aggression. We are talking about the area's influence. Thousands of human lives were sacrificed because the US had no other option. What would happen to America if Putin's ambitious plan to establish a free trade zone from Lisbon to Vladivostok were implemented? The USA would become an isolated state with a huge budget deficit, inflation and low living standards. Of course, Washington cannot allow this to happen, actually thinking that it has the right to rule the world. Thus, the conflict in Ukraine is nothing more than an attempt by the United States to provoke Russian military intervention, which in its turn will entail sanctions that would eventually lead to the destruction of economic relations between Russia and Europe. The basic principle of America's foreign policy is divide and conquer: the Sunnis against Shiites in the East, one ethnic group against another in Ukraine, Russians against Europeans. So far, Washington's plan has been very successful, but Russia still has a chance to stop the US.

Despite the ambitious plans of the US to deteriorate relations between Moscow and Europe, the Norwegian company Statoil plans to drill four oil wells in Russia, writes today's edition of Bloomberg Business. The largest energy producer in Norway is seeking to deepen its involvement in economic partnership with Russia, despite sanctions. Statoil believes that it is first necessary to improve relations between countries that are mutually beneficial to both parties, and not to follow the dubious foreign policy of other states.

The American newspaper The Week published today an article headlined "Germany flirts with Russia?", attempting to understand what the chances are of a new rapprochement between the two countries. Suddenly, for Europe and the United States, Germany suggested that Russia's participation in the events in Ukraine is very exaggerated by other countries. Therefore, for Germany it is evident that the lifting of sanctions on Russia is not necessary. The European community cannot come to a consensus on sanctions against the Russian state. This is yet another crack in the policy of the EU. Germany, in its turn, is one of the pillars of Europe, and its voice is almost the most important for the continent. But what is the reason for the indecision of Germany?

Firstly, after Berlin officially abandoned nuclear power, the country is dependent on imported natural gas that comes from Russia. Secondly, for all the participants in the European community it is becoming more and more obvious that the US can no longer be trusted - why should Europe lose its capital, when in fact there is no Russian military expansion against Ukraine. Thus, Germany is on the verge of a very important decision: either to strengthen its position as the independent leader in Europe and not be afraid of the economic partnership with Russia, or lose its credibility as a result of the manipulation of the United States.
