On Monday, July 7, the Russian Emergencies Minister, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived in Baku, as confirmed by the ministry itself.
The purpose of the trip is Kurenkov's participation in a meeting of the executive council and general assembly of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO)
"The key issue on the agenda is the election of the secretary general of this organization, which unites emergency services of more than 60 countries and provides humanitarian assistance around the world",
the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
It is expected that during the visit, Alexander Kurenkov is scheduled to hold meetings with his counterparts from other countries.

the press service of the ministry reported.
Let us remind you that today, over 60 countries are members of the ICDO. Roman Lapin assumed the post of acting Secretary General of the organization in January of this year.
