Beijing is preparing for celebrations of the 70thanniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. Solemn events will be held in September – on the days when the war between the Chinese Republic and the Japanese Empire was over. China is preparing invitations which will be sent to leaders of the countries that participated in the war. The Asian states, members of the UN, and other international organizations will be included on the list. The Russian delegation has already been invited to the parade on September 3rd. “We invite a top official delegation from Russia to the events; we also invite a Russian armed unit to participate in the military parade,” Li Zhanshu, the Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China, said.
It cannot be ruled out that Vladimir Putin will also visit Beijing in September to participate in the 70thanniversary of the end of World War II.
“The Soviet Union and China were countries which suffered great losses in the struggle against Nazism and Japanese militarism. We were fighting close to each other in the interests of a common Victory. Of course we celebrate the holiday together. Its goal is not only to commemorate our soldiers who contributed a lot to the Victory,” the Russian President thinks, “but also raising the current generation in the spirit of rejection of Nazism and militarism to prevent anything like that in the history of our countries and the world.”
In China, the celebrations are being organized not only by the authorities, but also by heads of private companies.
"In 2015 we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II. Victory over fascism and also the victory in the anti-Japanese War. In 1945, the Soviet people defeated the German Nazis and then sent its troops to the Far East in order to help China win the final victory in the anti-Japanese War,” Li Shuai, vice-president of Zhongkai Hoytsze, says. “These actions accelerated the victory of the Chinese people over the Japanese aggressors. The Soviet Union unselfishly sent its troops in order to fight the Japanese aggressors after the end of World War II. Several hundred Soviet soldiers took part in the war against the Japanese. Many of them were killed in the war, but they still live in the hearts of the Chinese people.”
“Last year, our chairman Xi Jinping and President Putin decided to celebrate together the 70th anniversary of the Victory in World War II and in the Anti-Japanese war. That is why this year Zhongkai Hoytsze is going to hold celebrations and charity events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in order to thus celebrate the Great Victory, and stimulate friendship between our countries, our friendly relations and contacts,” Li Shuai said.
Yuri Nosenko, Director General of the China-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says that “the company 'Zhongkai Hoytsze' is ready to bring about 3-5 thousand veterans to Russia to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The government and private companies try to educate the younger generation on such a wonderful example. It supports the idea of patriotism, makes it possible to remind who our allies were 70 years ago at the time of the Second World War II.
And these events took place from May to August of 1945, we rarely mention this, but in fact this is also a great event. When China was occupied by Japanese troops we received serious military and important moral support. I often visit China, which is why I know what it means for the Chinese people.”
