American information portal OpEd News writes today about the plans of neoconservatives regarding Russia and about what it might mean for the world. The neoconservatives in the US administration actively advocate confrontation with Russia and a "preventive war" against North Korea, while in addition, the scheme of neocons toppled the former president of Ukraine. The provocative plan to start a new Cold War against Russia is a repetition of the classic 1950s scenario. However, the second part of the plan – to conduct actions similar to those in Kiev – failed, thanks to the patriotism of the people of Crimea and the efficiency of Russia. So what to do next?
Continue to expand the bases of the US and NATO to the Russian border, including Ukraine. If the extension of the military contingent will continue, by the year 2020 Russia will be surrounded by potential enemies.
However, Russia has a trump card up its sleeve. The satellite system of prevention and nuclear capability gives Moscow the ability to control the actions of NATO, preventing it from being too close. In addition there is also Europe, which is between two fires. On the one hand, the influence of the United States; on the other hand, Russia, on which the energy welfare of the Community depends. The end game of the American neoconservatives is unclear, but in any case, Moscow is not going to yield any economic or geopolitical position.
The study of the American Research Center PEW indicates that the US and German opinions on Russia differ substantially. Prior to the confrontation in Ukraine, the geographical proximity and economic ties between Germany and Russia were very strong, but lately 57% of Germans believe that it is more important for the country to have strong ties with the United States than with Moscow. The population of the United States is much more radically adjusted in relation to Russia. More than half the population (54%) believe that the US policy towards Moscow is not harsh enough.
At the same time, 62% of Germans believe that the US will not be able to resist Russia. The same goes for the EU. 62% of Germans say that the actions of the Commonwealth against Russian are unfair.
The independent Us portal Axis of Logic says that the US is losing its clout on the world stage. By at the same time trying to spread its influence to several regions, including Europe, Latin America and China, America is wasting its economic potential.
For example, in March the US declared Venezuela to be a threat to national security, which, as everyone knows, is the first step towards the imposition of sanctions against the state. However, Venezuela received a lot of support, not only from the neighboring countries in the region, but also from Russia, forcing Washington to stop its aggressive policy on the continent.
In addition, in his speech on the 17th of December 2014, Barack Obama had the courage to admit that the blockade of Cuba and oppression had failed and that it is better to establish partnership than to continue confrontation.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is convinced that the US is trying to become an imperialist power, trying to spread its influence across all the continents, including Asia, South America, the Caribbean and Africa. However, for the US it means going through a series of conflicts. Furthermore, Maduro stressed that Europe risks pushing away Russia, which, in turn, takes the side of Asia in a strategic partnership.
However, in spite of criticism from world leaders, the US government continues its foreign policy, which is leading to disastrous consequences. Military conflicts around the world and instability in the country will, sooner or later, lead to irreversible consequences, which could be very detrimental to America.
