This year the country marks the 245th anniversary of Ingushetia uniting with Russia. Due to this, the republic will present itself in the State Duma and the Federation Council for a month. On June 9th the Days of the Republic of Ingushetia has opened at the State Duma of the Russian Federation. An exhibition was opened in the context of the event, showing the potential of the constituent part of the Russian Federation. The grand opening was attended by representatives of all the political factions of the country.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, said at the opening ceremony: “It is a very impressive event, more than usual. Maybe the deputies representing the Northern Caucasus and Ingushetia have worked on it. I want to say that the leader of the Republic, Head of the Republic Yunus-bek Yevkurov, produces the most pleasant impression as a leader. We have 85 constituent parts of the Russian Federation, and he has managed to create a good opinion of himself in a special and specific region in the North Caucasus. There are 6 republics, but we know him the best.”
Sergey Mironov, leader of the A Fair Russia party, stated that with great pleasure he took part in opening of the Days of Ingushetia at the State Duma: “It is symbolic that the Days of Ingushetia takes place in the main legislative body of the Russian Federation on the 245th anniversary of the voluntary entry of Ingushetia and the Ingush people to Russia. Today, when we speak about the social and economic development of your wonderful hospitable republic, we are pleased to note that Ingushetia is in the top 20 of the constituent parts of the Russian Federation which show the most vigorous growth of all indicators. The Days of Ingushetia in the State Duma are organized in the year of the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in World War II. Of course, we remember the contributions of the Ingush in our mutual Victory. 27 representatives of the Ingush people have received the highest title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for their participation in repulsing the attack of Nazi Germany and their contribution overall to our Victory is significant.”
Iosif Kobzon, People's Artist of the USSR, member of the United Russia party, shared his memories: “The history of Ingushetia took place before my eyes. 23 years ago, we saw how the first President of Ingushetia, General Aushev, was appointed to this post. There were no borders of Ingushetia, there was no census, a new life in Ingushetia started. I am happy that I was involved in it. I'm happy, because I was at the ceremony of laying the first stone in Magas, where the new capital of Ingushetia was planned to be built. I saw happy faces of the Ingush people. Despite war, victims, despite all this, the people lived and the people created. Russia can be proud that the people of Ingushetia live and develop near great Russia.”
Yunus-bek Yevkurov, Head of Ingushetia, spoke about the advantages of Ingushetia: “Ingushetia is a youngster, it is 23 years old. And all the leaders during these 23 years have done huge work in order to develop the Republic and make an agrarian industrial center of it. And rightly speaking, the republic is in the top 20 for the third year thanks to those who led the Republic during this period, who were deputies, those who worked – ordinary people. The results of 2014 show that we are in third position according to effectiveness of management and growth in all directions. Certainly, we will continue to work.”
The minister of economic development of the region, Beksultan Buzurtanov, spoke to Vestnik Kavkaza about the economic potential of Ingushetia: “The republic is the youngest in Russia. We do not take into account Crimea and Sevastopol, which recently reunited with Russia. Naturally, we had some problems accumulated in previous periods, but lately, in the last 5-7 years, the process of development of the country has significantly increased. The credit for this belongs to the federal government, which is supported by a number of federal target programs in Ingushetia. We cannot help noting modern production plants in Ingushetia – the 'Polymer' plant, production of fish skins, processing of fish skins according to new technologies. We are planning to launch a plant in the near future to produce Korean Daewoo buses.”
