During his latest visit to Moscow, the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, visited the ‘Poklonnaya Gora’ memorial complex. VK’s correspondent had a chance to ask him a few questions.
- Mr. Yevkurov, today you have visited the memorial complex in the Hill of Respectful Salutation. As far as we know, you are going to build similar alley of respectful salutation in Ingushetia. Why is it important for and when will it be built?
- Of course, we couldn’t build the same, as the Hill of Respectful Salutation is the Hill of Respectful Salutation. Here we have the primary contractor, who reconstructs our memorialcomplex, the chief architect of the republic and people, who are response for our projects inMoscow. Our aim is to show example for young people. They should see their history. Thiscomplex is important within the framework of patriotic education. Secondly, guests of our republic should see our history, roots of our peoples, including, heroic past of our people. In all wars, in which Russia has participated, our ancestry took part. Our residents, youth, guests from other regions of Russia and not only Russia should see it. Moreover, there is no park network in the republic. Today we visit Grozny, Vladikavkaz and Nalchik, our young people and residents visit in other republics. However, today we want to build a place in the republic, where residents from other regions come to us too.
- Where it will be located?
- It will be near the monument of deportation of our peoples. It is a tragic monument, a tragic page of our history. We will add memories about light and good pages of our history to this monument, it will be a big complex of the whole history of our nation. Furthermore, in this huge territory we will build a kindergarten, a school, a trade centre. Our National Museum will be there, and of course, we will lay out a park there similar to the Hill of Respectful Salutation, but smaller and cheaper.
