Astrologer Pavel Globa offered a new prognosis for 2012. Needless to say, almost all his previous political ‘predictions’ proved to be ultimately flawed (such as Timoshenko’s victory in the Ukrainian presidential elections or Gorbachev’s rule till 1995), but his original point of view can still be interesting.
According to the Chinese calendar, next year is the year of the Black Dragon. Dragon is the only creature presented in the Chinese calendar that doesn’t exist in the real world, so years of the Dragon, according to Globa’s interpretation, are always perfect for ‘chasing chimeras’ and creating wild utopian ideas. "For example, Marx and Engels issued their Communist Manifesto in 1848, and it starts with the words “A spectre is haunting Europe—the spectre of Communism”. And now Europe is haunted by the spectre of Terrorism," Pavel Globa says.
Nevertheless, the astrologer sees no reason to believe that the new year will start with some critical events – it is more possible that smaller issues will accumulate. However, the high level of tension in the global economy and politics will be maintained, and from the 6th of October 2012 till 2015 the situation will abruptly worsen as the planet Saturn – traditionally interpreted as a bringer of great ordeals - will remain in the Zodiacal sector of Scorpio till 2015.
According to Globa, the Russian bureaucratic system could collapse in the period of 2012 – 2014, however, whether this change will be prompted by revolution or reform is still unclear. The astrologer claims to be uninterested in current political developments, as they look small in the scale of stellar events, however, he doesn’t see the ‘orange revolution’ scenario going down in Russia.
As for the fact that he failed to predict the financial global crisis of 2008, Pavel Globa suggested that the real crisis is only to start in 2012. However, after this wave of crisis Russia will have a civilization chance to boost science, technology and the economy and finally become a successful, safe and peaceful country. Far from politics as he is, Globa seems to have supported the idea of the Eurasian Union: he said that the integration of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan is inevitable. In the astrologer’s opinion, a unifying treaty will be signed in 2020, and the new union will be imperial in nature.
As for the ‘Russia without the Caucasus’ slogan, Mr Globa said that the very idea is insane and that Caucasian people have helped the Russians out on many historical occasions. It is necessary for Russia to be friends with the Caucasus as, according to Globa, the Caucasians, unlike Russians, are active and are not lazy and inert.
