Is the crisis in the US and Europe a reason for the war against Iran?

Italian political expert, former Moscow correspondent of L’Unita and La Stampa, who became famous due to his original approaches to international politics, Giulitto Chiesa, held a press-conference in Moscow  “Is the crisis in the US and Europe the  reason for the war against Iran?”

Chiesa thinks that humanity is on the verge of the crisis that has no precedents in history. According to him, for 200-250 years we lived in the situation of the endless development, but this development is not possible any more: “The West is not developing anymore. What develops is only China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey. What earlier was the third world now is on the front line.” Chiesa believes that Europe and the USA are not the centre of the world anymore for a long time. It is a big, gigantic illusion, which will lead to war.

At the moment China is the vehicle of the whole world, Chiesa thinks, and “without China we would have been already in the tragic conditions.”

At the same time growth of population in Asia and South America will lead to lack of natural resources, not only oil, but even water. Chiesa says that to resist these challenges we need a different picture of the world, a different thinking.

This year the world is on the verge of the war with Iran. The Italian expert sees the reason for it in the fact that “the West believes that all the world should become uniform according to their understanding. Iran is beyond this picture. They have their own path. But they are of course not China therefore they can be destroyed.  This is where we are, unfortunately, going. I think that the chance of war against Iran is almost 100%.” As for terms, if 2-3 years ago the terms were more or less vague, now leadership if Israel says openly that the time has almost come.

“Within the US there is a struggle of interests, not everybody agrees with these conclusions. Even more, this year Obama will be probably reelected, and if there is a war his reelection is very unlikely. Therefore he wants to postpone the problem. But if it is not there before the elections, it will be there after the elections,” the Italian publicist thinks. He emphasizes that everything will depend on Premier of Israel Netanyahu, whether it is good for him to start the attack before the American presidential elections or afterwards.

As for the crisis in the EU, Chiesa considers the reasons for it should be searched in Wall Street and the City of London. He emphasizes that it is not about Great Britain or the United States as countries, it is about “the real possessors of the world.” They use the considerable military power of the US, but they make decisions independently. Chiesa thinks the fact that the rating-agency Standard and Poor’s in one day lowers the rating of 9 European countries, including France and Austria, is a political attack at Europe. The world financing structures do not trust European states.  It seems that they are preparing for a big fight, so that Europe would agree for the war against Iran. “It is obvious that there is a fight between the different centres of the West. The US wants Europe to agree with their line. Europe does not want. I think you have noticed that during the Libyan conflict, Germany surprisingly did not join. Why did not Merkel join the war in Libya? It is obvious. Europe has its leading elites that begin to realize that European interests do not coincide with the American,” Chiesa says.

As for consequences of the war against Iran for the South Caucasus, Chiesa emphasizes that they are unavoidable due to geographic closeness. The socio-political conditions in this region are deplorable, he thinks: unemployment is very high and the possibilities of having a normal life are limited to a minority of the population. “Moreover, initiators of the war are not looking for victory, but for disorder and chaos. Chaos is profitable for them. Look at the war in Afghanistan. Did the Americans win? No. Why did they have that war? Why did they have a war in Iraq? To win? Nobody wanted to win. They started the war to create disorder, if there is disorder it is easier for them to rule the situation,” Chiesa concluded.
