The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working on problems of refugees from Chechnya and North Ossetia. The organization has been working in Nazrab since 1992 due to the events at the Prigorodny District. An office of the ICRC in Nazran told VK that they had 32 locals and a foreigner working for the organization, helping the families in greatest need, which arrived from Chechnya and the Prigorodny District. They currently live in the private sector and compact settlements of Ingushetia. Help is also offered for families with missing people and families with breadwinners in prison.

The ICRC’s economic program allows people to start own business in agriculture, craft, animal-breeding and minor commerce. The ICRC offers free tools and animals. 169 families of forced migrants from the Prigorodny District received equipment to start own business in 2011.

The ICRC supports North Ossetian medics willing to improve skills. The organization has medical materials to react to emergency situations and needs of healthcare centers.

Another ICRC program allows families to meet their convicted relatives several times a year. The Red Cross promotes extension of knowledge on the international humanitarian law by cooperating with the Legal Department of the Institute for Economy and Law and the Ingush State University.
