As you know, the issue of standardization is extremely important foreach country and its development. About half of themember-states of the UN are also part of the Union for Standardization and Metrology, an alliance of Islamic countries. Now there is a need for standardization of halal products in the Islamic countries. That is why the Institute of Metrology and Standardization of Islamic Countries published its first halal standard in 2011. But if we consider the entire Islamic world, we see that it is represented by a variety of countries and each of them has its own halal standards that are very different from those in other countries. In addition, we know that there is the European Committee for Standardization, where a European Committee was created, which deals specifically with thestandards of halal industry. So we see that if Islamic
countries will not engage themselves in the development of a common standard, then other organizations for standardization and metrology will take over. They are very numerous, and they are already dealing with this issue. It is necessary for the Islamic countries to cooperate on this issue and develop a unified point of view.
