Timur Utsayev, Grozny. Exclusively to Vestnik Kavkaza
The center of the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in Russia is Grozny. A special flight from Dubai brought sacred Muslim relics to Chechnya – things which belonged to the Prophet Muhammad and his daughter Fatima and their followers. The great number of pilgrims comes to the Chechen capital from regions of Russia and the CIS to see Prophet’s relics. The organization committee on preparation of festival arrangements in Grozny was headed by the member of the Federal Council from Chechnya, the deputy chairman of the FC committee on international affairs Ziyad Sabsabi. After his return from the United Arab Emirates he told Vestnik Kavkaza on results of their work.
“Representatives of 12 countries came to the Chechen Republic, including Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, Bahrain, and India. The delegation is headed by emir al-ansar sheikh Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al-Khazradji whose family guards sacred relics of the last prophet. He is also emir from al-ansar family, i.e. followers of our Prophet who welcomed the Prophet Muhammad in Medina when he migrated there from Mecca. The visit by the chairman of the Scientists Council of India sheikh Abubakar Yusef-Ahmad is very important for us. He has more than 200 million followers in India. The chairman of the Supreme Sharia Trial of Bahrain sheikh Rashid was also included into the delegation which arrived to Grozny.
The fact that Grozny was elected for celebration of our Prophet’s birthday is recognition of leading Muslim leaders, Muslim scientists; it is dignities and gratitude to our Chechen people, the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov for exclusive treatment and respect to relics of our Prophet and pure, truthful attitude to Islam. The whole world knows the head of the republic not only as a political leader, but a defender of Islam, a prominent defender of Muslims and Islam in the whole world.”
Celebrating arrangements are taking place in Abu Dhabi. They will last for 12 days. The majority of relics has been exhibited in Abu Dhabi recently. People from many countries of the world arrived to the city to get blessing from them. “Most of these sacred relics were decided to be brought to Grozny. Some of them will stay in Grozny for a year,” Ziyad Sabsabi said.
