Russian Humanitarian Resource Center founded in Tskhinval

The opening ceremony of the Russian Humanitarian Resource Center based on A. Talibov South-Ossetian State University took place in South Ossetia. The center will function under the support of the political scientific center “North-South” which office was also founded in Tskhinval. Scientifict and tutorial facilities for the resource center will be provided by the History Department of MSU and the Russian State University for Humanities. At the ceremony the center “North-South” presented to the resource center computers and more than 70 items of scientific and educational literature, video materials devoted to the Russian history and literature.

Speaking at the solemn ceremony, the executive director of the political scientific center “North-South” Alexei Vlasov noted that “one of the most important directions of cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia is humanitarian sphere.” “The goal of the establishing resource center is development of cooperation in joint programs on training staff, the exchange of tutorial literature, filling of scientific libraries of South-Ossetian universities with acute textbooks on history, philology, political science, linguistics, holding joint conferences and round tables devoted to the most urgent issues in the sphere of humanitarian knowledge,” Alexei Vlasov emphasized.

The resource center developed a working schedule for a year.
