Valuyev and Bezrukov stand for inter-ethnic harmony

By Vestnik Kavkaza

A month ago, the deputy head of the Presidential Administration, the former head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, proposed creating the post of deputy governor on inter-ethnic relations in the regions. It seems the main direction of migration officials will be the improvement of inter-ethnic and inter-religious consent in Russian regions and the prevention of discrimination. The problems are really acute.

Nikolai Valuyev, an MP and athlete, told Vestnik Kavkaza: “It is no secret and many great people have said that the most dreadful and unsettled issue in Russia is the ethnic issue. Our state is multinational. We should admit that the Soviet authorities planted a bomb a long time ago – separation according to ethnic belonging and territories. That is why we face elements of nationalism today. The bomb shouldn’t explode!

Today we have a federation. I hope that special attention will be paid to this issue, special policy, special financing.”

Valuyev thinks that “even involvement of foreign laborers is also an ethnic issue. The recent events in Moscow showed clearly that society has a demand and an absence of clues as to what will happen next in Russia. I hope that today on Constitution Day people will mark it differently, it is also the 20th anniversary of the parliament. This is a serious date, which means a certain maturation enabling us to look calmly in the future and not give up our work. We will hold the Olympics. Several days are left. Then we will hold various world championships, the football World Cup. I think these events will consolidate Russian citizens and make them think that we are united multinational peoples. We all love sport and sport is a united idea which deserves its existence, I think.”

Actor Sergey Bezrukov
expressed his view on harmonization of inter-ethnic relations in an interview to Vestnik Kavkaza: Sergei Bezrukov: “I think positivity will save us. I perform in those projects - in film productions, in theater projects - where I give people hope. It is now necessary to give hope. When you start talking to people about positivity, it is clear that not all perceive this. Not all. Many are beginning to simply explode. But they are few compared to the huge number of people who are waiting for this positivity. They want it. Please somebody, talk about the good, even a little. Start with yourself. We are not perfect, I'm not perfect. I just think that we can live in positivity and we can create something. In negativity, we cannot do anything. It corrupts and destroys you, and you can destroy everyone else who begins to live in the same way in the negative. It is necessary to give a full palette of life, but in the end, this is a feeling of a light at the end of a tunnel... Well, at least something, even a dream. Let it be a utopia, only an illusion, an illusory impression of a happy ending. Nevertheless, in any play, in any work that you choose, even in the most tragic, yet, even after the clearing tears of empathy you can arrive at this positive ending. Look at my Yesenin or even Pushkin: it clear that the final is determined. Nevertheless, the people who watch then go on to read the book. This is already such a positive attitude, when people with the inspiration of a play touch books. It's great.”
