The fight against illegal migrants has been escalated in Russia. Citizens of the republics which became independent in the early 1990s from Russia actively migrate to the country to earn money. The other problem is illegal migration from such foreign countries as China and Vietnam.
The problem of illegal migration touched on Ingushetia as well. Citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Vietnam come here to work as builders. The head of the region Yunus-Bek Yevkurov set a goal – there should be no illegal migrants in the republic. In a week the DFMS of Russia to Ingushetia detected forty illegal migrants. Most of them have no documents, licenses, and health insurance. These people are provided with food and a place to live before their deportation. A special facility where foreign citizens who have to be deported from Russia, according to a court verdict, can live.
More than 40 people are kept in two bulks. Conditions are nice – medium-sized rooms, a canteen, shower-rooms, game rooms for children. A sport ground will soon be built. If it is necessary, the number of beds will be increased to 60.
Illegal migrants wait for a decision on their fate from a week to several months, depending on a situation. To send an illegal migrant back home, about 30 thousand rubles are needed. The FMS allocate the money. According to the head of the DFMS of Russia to Ingushetia, Magomed Batayev, 60 people passed through the special facility in two months.
People are very different. The Taimins are a married couple from Vietnam, who came to Ingushetia six months ago. They worked at one of building areas, doing decoration works. Then, the FMS control came. That’s how they appeared in the special facility. The couple had to be sent back to Vietnam a week ago, but an extraordinary situation took place – the woman gave birth to a baby girl. It is the first baby born in the facility. At the moment the illegal migrants are waiting for a court’s verdict.
It is beneficial for employers to hire migrants, as they are ready for everything. However, labour migrants are forbidden to work at state building areas, they can work only for private organizations. Ingushetia has a lot of labour resources, and there is a question on reduction of a number of licenses given to migrants. Illegal migrants avoid getting to the special facility, as it is a beginning of a way home.
