The international historical and cultural forum "The great Victory achieved by unity: The 70th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine and Belarus from fascism" has taken place in Kursk. Representatives of CIS countries, Georgia and Baltic spoke about the historical judgment of a general victory. Speaking at the forum, the governor of Kursk region Alexander Mikhailov expressed the opinion that "attempts to impose to Russia alternative history, in which realities of the Great Patriotic War are distorted, are interesting for governments of the western countries".
He revealed his thoughts in an interview with "Vestnik Kavkaza" : "In Russia and also in the Soviet Union always said that if one of us was Ivan, not mindful of kinship, there is nothing good in front of him can not wait. Therefore, it is necessary to remember everything. Maybe I, unlike other politicians and political scientists, know well the background to the destruction of the Soviet Union".
According to Mikhailov, first enemies of Russia "prepared Hitler pushed the Soviet Union, but the Soviet Union survived. Heavy losses, but all slapped on teeth and persevered. Those who failed in the Second World destroy the Soviet Union, started destroying it from within. What did they do? Destroys memory, planted their ideas contrary to our traditional values. In the end, it worked out."
"Now we can hear about some fifth colon, but it sat, sits and will sit,- said the governor of Kursk region. - I was a member of the State Duma, I was always a statesman. I always tried to do everything to protect the state, and Westerners did the opposite. According to Mikhailov Western states never leave us alone. Either we will consolidate and give reliable rebuff or let on to mock, to scoff as at each republic separately and at all together.
The governor believes that "memory - the key to understanding where we come from, on what all we have built. Then we will be able correctly to build policy, a line of conduct further, instead of to be content with all their tricks".
