German gays parade under the flag of Russia

Hundreds of thousands of gay rights supporters went on to the central streets of Berlin for the annual festival. What exactly they were celebrating isn't precisely known, but with beautiful weather and tasty German beer those gathered had fun and danced, and in breaks they discussed tolerance and the rights of gays and lesbians around the world.

It has been known for a long time that in this sphere everything is well in Germany. The mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, who opened one of the numerous gay parades, is one of the "pioneers" of the German political gay scene. By the way, the well-known Green MP Volker Beck is always there, who didn't avoid legislative support for paedophilia in the past, and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Guido Westerwelle. By the way, a few years ago, during a visit by mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov, Volker Beck tried to participate in an unauthorized gay parade in Moscow. As a result, the German deputy became acquainted with the not-very friendly Moscow riot police, which introduced a special highlight in his future  attitude toward Russia. Russia doesn't leave German homosexuals indifferent – many participants in the parade lifted Russian flags – in protest at the sensational legislative ban on gay propaganda in Russia.

Tolerance in relation to representatives of sexual minorities in Germany is a "sacred cow" of the human rights policy of the German state. There are historical reasons for this – during the existence of the Third Reich in the country some 15 thousand homosexual people were sent to concentration camps and half of them died there.

Hundreds of homosexuals were castrated according to a decree, thousands were placed in psychiatric clinics. So the modern German state, expiating the sins of the rule of Adolf Hitler, has surrounded supporters of same-sex love with care and warmth. However, full legalization of same-sex marriages hasn't been reached there yet - the Christian Democrats have to reckon with their own electorate, in particular in conservative South German regions – Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. For example, ex-football player of the German national team Thomas Hitzlsperger, who recently revealed his homosexuality publicly, was elevated almost to the level of national hero by the German mass media. The victory of the Austrian transsexual Conchita Wurst at the "Eurovision" competition became the next milestone in this information campaign. Many participants in the Berlin parade, inspired by her victory, flaunted themselves with pleasure before the lenses of the cameras in long dresses and with magnificent beards …

VK comment: The law adopted in Russia at the end of June 2013 on a gay propaganda ban, only forbidding the promotion of homosexuality, but not in any way stopping simple distribution of neutrally-painted information about this subject, was received by a number of liberal Europe politicians on bayonets. Certainly, every person has the right to make their own choices in life, and nobody challenges this. However, in this case it is a question of aggressive distribution of values alien to the vast majority of the population which has the right to an opinion. And other opinions need to be respected, which apologists of gay parades forget.
