A program entitled "Secure Republic" is set to be financed, according to the budget of North Ossetia for 2011.
Social unrest began in the region after the terrorist attack of September 9th. The local population is devastated, so that even the news that the terrorist had been found didn't calm them. Ethnic conflict was prevented only due to the efficient activity of the law-enforcement agencies.
The unrest is most acute among young people. The students were so active and sometimes so aggressive that the authorities had to take measures. The Minister of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia, Artur Akhmetkhanov, and the head of the Federal Security Service's office in North Ossetia, Oleg Yatskov, have met with students at the UNESCO Hall of the North Ossetian State University. Akhmetkhanov called upon the students not to yield to the influence of provocateurs and Yatskov told the audience about the "Secure Republic' program.
The program was adopted by the local legislative authorities and its aim is to struggle with terrorism using all possible means. The program spells out the necessary measures that will be taken by the law-enforcement agencies to prevent possibleacts of terror in the future. 3 million rubles are going to be spent on this program. That seems to be enough to secure the safety of the citizens of North Ossetia.
