Pyatigorsk, the new capital of the district, is already being beautified: its fountains are being reconstructed and illuminated. Presidential plenipotentiary representative Alexander Kloponin had promised to present a complex program of development for the region and, already this spring, reports of new projects are starting to be heard.
Kabardino-Balkaria has developed 150 projects to be included in the complex strategy of development of the regions of the NCFD, the total cost of which is 243 billion rubles. The implementation of these projects could create 44 thousand new jobs. The annual contribution to the budget at all levels will be more than 16 billion rubles.
Realization of all the projects will give an opportunity to double the GDP of the region, to multiply agricultural production by 230%, food production by 150%, industrial production by 300% and tourist services by a factor of 20.
Chechnya has developed a set of projects with total cost of 260 billion rubles.
North Ossetia is also working in this field. Its strategy will include
plans to develop four spheres: agricultuel, innovative-educational
projects, fuel-energy and tourism.
The block of suggestions of the Stavropol District includes 115 projects. Georgi Yefremov, Deputy Premier of the District, said that the development project which had existed previously had been extended by new infrastructural suggestions. For instance, the officials of the
