The first tournament in professional boxing has been held in Ingushetia. The championship was organized under the sanction of the Professional Boxing Association of Russia, with the support of the head of administration of Ingushetia and the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the participation of the vice-president of the Professional Boxing Association of Russia, the president of the club "Kitek", a native of the Ingush Republic, Haji Pugiev.
The tournament was visited by such well-known promoters as Vitaly Supichenko, Kyril Pchelnikov and the famous coach Mark Meltzer. Even before the start of the tournament the hall of the Nazran fitness center was filled to capacity. People were standing on the street. The event attracted to Nazran boxers from Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Latvia and Azerbaijan. The secretary-general of the Professional Boxing Association of Russia, Mikhail Smolyakov, told Russia that the boxing championship in Nazran was conducted in accordance with the international rules and regulations of the World Boxing Council (WBC). Eight pairs met in the ring. The tournament provided five rating fights in various weight categories, with the participation of Roman Simakov, Ahmed Oligov and Denis Tsaryuk. Also, there were two 10-round titular fights according to WBC Baltic. The current champion of the WBC Baltic in the weight category up to 57.2 kg is an athlete from Ingushetia, Aiup Arsaev. Before the tournament he conducted twelve fights and won eight of them.
The final of the boxing championship put together the young and energetic Aiup Arsaev and the experienced Harhartbek Aripov. The fight was spectacular. Arsaev was constantly on the attack and eventually won the fight. Ahmed Oligov snatched victory from the professional Belarusian boxer Yuri Tsarenko.
The audience welcomed such distinguished boxers as Islam Timurziev, Ali Balayev and Ahmed Shouhalov, as well as famous coaches in kickboxing and boxing Idris Aushev, Boris Haniev, Said-Magomed Dzhamurzaev and Movsar Kodzoev. The evening of professional boxing ended after midnight.
