The AYOR supported the gymnasts

The Moscow department of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia arrived in Nizhni Novgorod in order to support the Azerbaijani gymnasts at the 28th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship.

VK: You came from Moscow to Nizhni Novgorod in order to see the competitions. You weren't disappointed?

The representative of the AYOR: We were exalted. Yesterday, Valeri Shantsev said that this is the first time a European Championship in any sporting event has been held here. We are amazed at this city; it is an ancient and attractive one. The championship was held at the top level. The Azerbaijani fans did their best, I think. This is our good old habit to support our gymnasts. The European Championship was even held in our city, in Baku. It was said that we also wanted to host the Olympic Games. Before that we would like to host the European Championship and the World Championship in rhythmic gymnastics in Baku. The AYOR always joins all the sporting and cultural events held in Russia at the international level, and our community becomes a leader all over the country in Russian sporting and cultural life. This is our success. Hurrah, my friends!

VK: Nizhni Novgorod has a diverse history. Azerbaijan also left its mark in it. Are you going to do the same in London?

The representative of the AYOR:  To my mind, the people who stood on the podium will leave their mark in London; maybe they will reverse roles. Russia was always a leader in rhythmic gymnastics. Azerbaijan has also become a leader recently. If we admit that there are five strong teams in the world, Russia and Azerbaijan will be the leaders amongst them. It is so, it will be so, and we will make progress. I would like to tell the Russian fans: my friends, the day will come when we will come first, and you will look at us and hope that the gold medal will be yours at the next championship!
